I was just wondering if anyone has used these 40 to 1 steinberger tuners on their builds? If so, would you use them again and why?

I bought some but was disappointed with them - they don't work the way I thought they did. They basically clamp the string and then screw in and out to tune it. I thought they were cleverer than that and had some internal planetary gearing or something similar. If you want a set cheap to try, let me know....

Cheers,
Dave F.

I did a few years back and had the same gripes Dave did. And they just didn't look right either. I thought they would be cool but they just looked so out of place on the 2 guitars i tried them on. A gibson sg and a tele clone. I ended up giving them to a friend who liked them.
